Huntingdon Valley, PA— The Sisters of the Holy Redeemer seek outdoor-oriented volunteers to help plant and tend a pumpkin patch at their headquarters on Moredon Road in Huntingdon Valley. The pumpkin patch is used as a teaching tool for local students as well as for Holy Redeemer's School Garden Program. People of all ages are welcome to apply to volunteer for the program.
Conditions
Working outdoors
2 hour increments 1 day/week
Tuesday evenings will be designated "Evenings in the Garden,” but volunteers are welcome whatever time and day is convenient.
Hand and tool work
Requires good physical condition
Volunteer Responsibilities
Preparing soil – May
Planting pumpkins- Saturday, June 5, 2010, 9 AM to noon
Tending growing plants: water, mulch, weed on regular basis – June to September
